Anelastic spectroscopy

Anelastic spectroscopy

The anelastic spectroscopy measures the strain response to applied stress and is the mechanical analogue to the dielectric spectroscopy (polarization versus electric field). The complex elastic modulus is measured as a function of temperature and frequency on samples of any solid material to get information on any type of phase transitions, mobility of defects, domain walls, electric and magnetic excitations coupled to strain.
