Key Enabling Technologies - KETs

In order to organize the ERDF 2014-2020 Smart Specialization Strategy - S3, both at a Regional and National level, the identification of strategic areas of intervention was identified. These presented strong interactions between the production system and research activities able to support social and market challenges. With this aim the use of Key Enabling Technologies – KET, had been considered strategic for Europe. In agreement with this need, in 2017, the Istituto di Struttura della Materia published a collection of contributions of its Researchers "KETs@ISM", reporting some of their skills on KETs, such as: nanotechnologies, micro- and nano-electronics, advanced materials, biotechnology, photonics, advanced manufacturing systems, for highlighting their versatile application in several state-of-the-art technological fields.
