On September 30, 2024 (at 10 AM), the final workshop of the TECsPRO project will take place in the Council Hall of the Municipality of Melfi.
The objective of TECsPRO (funded under the “AXIS I – RESEARCH, INNOVATION, AND TECHNOLOGICAL
DEVELOPMENT of the PO FESR 2014-2020 - ACTION 1B.1.2.1” POR FESR BasilicataEuropa2014-2020) aims to design and develop an innovative, flexible IoT-based system, adaptable to various production contexts typical of SMEs. The goal is to identify solutions that promote eco-sustainable and energy-efficient processes in line with the S3 Strategy's most relevant technological trajectories for the local economy.
The project focuses on enhancing the role of IoT technologies in operational process management for SMEs, enabling the monitoring and optimization of individual phases and the overall production process. Particular attention is given to energy efficiency, product quality, workplace safety and comfort, data management, and predictive maintenance.
The TECsPRO platform integrates commercial devices and innovative sensors, developed by project partners, for monitoring production processes and energy efficiency. The data is stored in a cloud infrastructure, serving as input for basic and advanced analyses using AI and machine learning models. The platform is validated in the pilot site of PLASTICFORM, a project partner.
CNR-ISM's contribution has allowed the project-specific aspects to be aligned with new scientific directions based on Key Enabling Technologies (KETs), including:
- The development of next-generation environmental sensors and sensor networks, providing pathways for future integration into the IoT platform's architecture.
- The definition of thermoelectric modules to power the platform by converting thermal energy into electricity.
Through a partnership that includes research institutions and SMEs, TECsPRO strengthens collaborative interactions between the productive system and the research system, creating new development opportunities for the productive and economic landscape of the Basilicata region.
