Perovskite solar cells are among the most promising photovoltaic technologies, offering high power conversion efficiencies and the potential for low-cost energy production. However, optimizing charge transport and extraction remains a key challenge for enhancing both device performance and long-term operational stability.
In this study, we introduce an ultrathin interlayer of C10-BTBT, an organic semiconductor, placed between the perovskite layer and the hole extraction monolayer (MeO–2PACz). This interfacial modification improves interface quality and facilitates more efficient hole extraction. The resulting device demonstrates an increase in power conversion efficiency (PCE) from 18% to over 20%, along with improved operational stability and enhanced moisture resistance, all without altering the composition or morphology of the perovskite active layer.
This approach offers a simple and scalable pathway to further improve the efficiency and durability of perovskite solar cells.
