Fast transient absorption/reflectivity in UV/Vis/NIR

Time-Resolved Pump-Probe Spectroscopy allows the study of ultrafast phenomena which cannot be investigated by conventional spectroscopic techniques.
In this spectroscopy, a first pulse (the pump) irradiates the sample causing its excitation or modification, and a second pulse (the probe) impinges on the sample after an adjustable delay time.
By detecting the variation in the transmitted or reflected probe signal as a function of the pump-probe delay, it is possible to temporally follow the change in the optical response of the sample induced by pump irradiation.
