CNR-ISM researchers among the list of the top 2% most influential scientists

The scientific journal PLOS Biology periodically publishes a database of the top 2% of the world's most influential scientists, using a standardized metric based on citations and covering all scientific disciplines. The latest update was recently released, and it features several researchers from CNR-ISM in this prestigious list, starting with the current Director, Aldo Di Carlo, and also including the Emeritus Researcher and former Director of CNR-ISM, Dino Fiorani.

The compilation of this list, first published in 2019, includes two different databases: one focused on the total career impact of a researcher and the other based on the impact during a specific year. Researchers from CNR-ISM are featured in both.
In the career-long impact database, we find the current CNR-ISM Director Aldo Di Carlo, the Emeritus Researcher and former CNR-ISM Director Dino Fiorani, as well as Gianni Stefani and Ernesto Paparazzo, both associates and retired CNR-ISM researchers. Also included are researchers Emmanuele Cappelluti and Andrea Marini.
Aldo Di Carlo and Andrea Marini are also among the most influential scientists for the year 2023, alongside researchers Francesco Cordero, Julietta Rau, Marco Di Giovannantonio and Davide Sangalli.
