Magnetooptical Kerr effect (MOKE)

Magnetooptical Kerr effect (MOKE)

Magneto-optical Kerr effect (MOKE) involves a change in the polarization or intensity of light reflected from a magnetized surface. MOKE magnetometry is widely used to investigate the magnetization state of thin films and multilayers. The advantages of MOKE are: high sensitivity down to monolayer resolution, high temporal and spatial resolution, straightforward in situ implementation and low costs.
