Solar Thermal Power (STP) technology has gained significant attention in China as an innovative solution for renewable energy transition. This presentation reviews the current status of STP in China, highlighting the key projects, technological advancements, and policy frameworks driving its growth. It explores China’s ambitious goals for STP integration into the national energy grid, as well as the challenges posed by intermittency, energy storage, and cost efficiency. Moreover, this report examines how China is leveraging STP technology to complement other renewable energy sources, such as photovoltaics and wind, while addressing the nation's energy security and carbon neutrality goals.
