PNRR NFFA-DI PROJECT - ADVANCED COURSE "PILOT TRAINING COURSE IN DATA MANAGEMENT AND CURATION" - COLLECTION OF EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST

Objective of the course: to raise awareness of the advantage of using a FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) approach to the data produced in research infrastructures for the future developments of scientific research.

The training objectives of the course are: 

  • make participants fully aware of the benefits of using a FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) approach to the data produced in research infrastructures as a unique resource for their research and scientific careers, with the ultimate goal of growing a new class of professionals for the next ones scientific challenges; 
  • strengthen the skills of the staff of each laboratory involved in the project NFFA-DI to acquire the data produced in FAIR-by-design mode. 

At the end of the course the participants will have acquired the following skills: 

  • principles and methodologies of Open Science, within the EOSC (European Open Science Cloud); 
  • FAIR principles: Data FAIR-by-design and FAIRification of data; 
  • tools and software for metadata acquisition and enrichment; 
  • tools and methods for preliminary analysis of data and metadata.

The duration of the course is approximately nine months, with the following structure: 
First module lasting six weeks at SISSA in Trieste. The course will take place from 09/16/2024 to 10/30/2024; 
Second module lasting seven months during which the participant will carry out an experimental and thesis work at the laboratories of the CNR Institute of Structure Subject, Rome headquarters, Tor Vergata Research Area, at the end of which the thesis will be discussed in Trieste. The module will run from November 2024 to May 2025.
