Workshop PERSEUS - PERSpectivEs in Ultrafast Spectroscopy and materials processing in the IR-UV wavelength range

In the framework of the activities of the NFFA-DI project, CNR-ISM organizes the Workshop PERSEUS - PERSpectivEs in Ultrafast Spectroscopy and materials processing in the IR-UV wavelength range.
The workshop will present recent developments in the field of ultrafast spectroscopy and material treatment with ultrafast sources.

The communications on Ultrafast Spectroscopy will encompass time-resolved spectroscopy in absorption and photoemission in the Terahertz, Vis-UV, VUV, X-ray wavelength range and theoretical methods to interpret the experiments. The workshop will also focus on the experimental facilities: table-top sources, high harmonic generation (HHG), and free-electron lasers (FEL). The applications will concern photovoltaic materials, quantum materials, wide gap semiconductors.
List of speakers:

  • Stefano Lupi (Dipartimento di Fisica, Università di Roma Sapienza) - "Terahertz Time Resolved Spectroscopy in Quantum Materials"
  • Andrea Marini (CNR-ISM, Montelibretti) - "Coherent phenomena driven by ultra-short laser pulses: insight from an out-of-equilibrium theoretical approach"
  • Paola Luches (CNR-NANO, Modena) - "Ultrafast electronic and structural dynamics in photoexcited cerium oxide investigated by pump-probe XAS at the Eu-XFEL"
  • Giuseppe Ammirati (CNR-ISM, Roma) - "A multiscale study of semitrasparent active materials for photovoltaics"
  • Daniele Trucchi (CNR-ISM, Montelibretti) - "Defect engineering of materials by ultrashort laser for solar and optoelectronic applications"
  • Gian Marco Pierantozzi (CNR-IOM, Trieste) - "NFFA-Sprint: a high harmonic generation laboratory for time resolved photoemission

The workshop will take place on 6th May 2024 (9:30 -13:30) at Rome, in the Aula Marconi of CNR, P.le Aldo Moro 7.
