PhD student at Chemistry Department, “Sapienza” University of Rome.

Main activities: organic synthesis

Topic: functionalization of magnetic nanoparticles with optically active chains for asymmetric catalysis. I spent six months at the School of Chemistry, Trinity College of Dublin, working on the functionalization of magnetic nanoparticles with N-heterocyclic carbene organocatalysts, under the supervision of Professor S. Connon.

October 2006 – October 2009

Research activity at “Institute of Structure of Matter”, CNR, Monterotondo Scalo, Rome.

Main activities: chemical synthesis and functionalization of metal and metal oxide nanoparticles; functionalization of silicon and silicon oxide surfaces for sensor application.
