Davide Peddis CV

  • Davide Peddis graduated cum laude in Chemistry in 2003 and PhD in 2006 at the University of Cagliari (PhD Thesis title: Nanostructured Magnets – Synthesis and Characterization of CoFe2O4 nanoparticles).
  • He is member of Italian Chemical Society (Chemical Physics Division, Didactic of Chemistry Division) and European Society of Physics. He is referee for various scientific international journals (Journal of the American Chemical Society, Materials Research Bullettin, Chemistry of Materials)
  • Actually he have a post-doc position in the Institute of Matter Structure of CNR (Italy)
  • Research Activity
The research activity have been developed in the Solid State Physical Chemistry and Materials Chemistry fields, studying the relationship between physical properties and crystalline structures of magnetic nanomaterials. Particular attention have been devoted on:
    a) Preparation through innovative synthetic strategy (Sol-Gel, autocombustion, micellar method, wet impregnations) of unsupported and silica supported magnetic nanoparticles of metal oxides (γ-Fe2O3, CoFe2O4, NiO)
    b) Structural, morphological and textural properties of magnetic nanoparticles and magnetic nanocomposites by X-Ray Diffraction, Electron Microscopy , FT-IR spectroscopy, Thermal Analysis and N2-physisirption.
    c) Magnetic properties of nanostructures (granular films and magnetic nanoparticles) by AC and DC magnetic measurements (SQUID and VSM magnetometry) and Mössbauer spectroscopy.
  • The scientific activity is represented in 10 papers published in international journals and 25 communications (11 oral) to national and international Conferences.
